Until recently we have been putting forth only some effort to save our earth. More and more people are recycling, becoming conscious of their energy use, and so on; but, of course, not everyone will cooperate no matter what we do. Dramatic realization is the cause of increased interest. The drama comes in the form of natural disasters: the realization is that (scientists can prove) our actions can both trigger and prevent them. The destruction of the environment is not a self-destruction. We are damaging the world around us, and it is up to us to stop damaging it.
Ten years ago, German scientific engineering consultants and Iranian researchers came together to develop a plan for an amazing power plant which is now in operation. The “Yazd Solar Energy Power Plant” should not be the only one of its kind. We can only hope that more and more countries will pursue the generation of solar power as an alternative source of energy as aggressively as this. There is much proof now for motivation of building solar energy power plants.
The plant in Yazd combines a one hundred and thirty two steam power plant, two one hundred and fifty nine mega watt gas power plants, and a seventeen mega watt solar power plant. Following technological trends of the past few decades . . . productivity and design of power plants like this will only continue to advance.
Effort and determination is what it will take for us to create a world without a rapidly deteriorating environment. There are very few countries right now that are exploring seriously the development of solar energy power plants. This kind of technology is easily within our reach. The ability we have to create solar energy plants is an encouraging thing overall, for the good of our planet.
Nonetheless, it would be even more encouraging if the majority of countries would consider utilizing this technological possibility for the sake of the world – literally.
